Removing Lead Oxide From Roundballs

I used Drano, the sodium hydroxide reacts with the lead oxide to remove it. I don't recall how much I used but put some Drano in a ceramic bowl with water and watch it bubble away.

I have been thinking about powder coating them.. maybe a bright fluorescent green or orange… so a spotter might see it on its way to the target..
will report back when I have done some..

Well friend, we actually did "lead them to water",,

I use my stainless steel tumbler that I clean modern rifle brass with. They come out looking like new.

I have balls from the 90s that still look fresh, yet some from 2012 that turned white.
I just tumbled them, and seal a meal them.
Still working on the 1990s ones. We had a casting party that lasted a week.
