Rendezvous College

Is there any interest in attending a "Rendezvous College" near Shiner, Texas put on by the Fritztown Free Trappers and the Texas Free Trappers?

It would be over a Friday-Sunday period in early October.

The goal is to get new attendees for our rendezvous by providing instruction in the equipment and participation in the events of rendezvous.

Both FFT and TFT have two rendezvous per year at the Shiner site.

Wouldn't that be a great opportunity for Sean and the other guy who didn't have a clue what kind of event was being held but was insistent that reenactors, if you will, of this period do what they want, when they want, how they want...

Here it would be clear to those actually conducting the event, and the students, what it and its expectations are! THIS would be a real treat if planned, organized, developed and managed well.

It is unclear if this is a joint effort or not. Should it not be!?

As an aside, at what age were you still just Grey Wolf?

I've known Joe for a few years and all that time he has been Old Grey Wolf. I never knew him when he was just Grey Wolf. God only knows when he was just The Wolf. :haha: But, Old Grey Wolf is a heck of a guy and I am proud to call him my friend. :hatsoff:

Here is the info on our Rendezvous we have changed from a Rendezvous College to a Pilgrims Rendezvous along with our annual Fall Rendezvous.

Presents the FRITZTOWN FREE TRAPPERS
Annual 2015 Fall Rendezvous and Pilgrims Rendezvous October 23 ”“ 25, 2015

You are welcome to the 2015 FFT Spring Rendezvous to be held in Shiner, Texas at the site of a previous Southwestern Regional Rendezvous. It will be at Gene Nagelmueller’s property whom we thank for the use of his land.

There will be FFT signs posted along the road. Email [email protected] for map and more info. Modern camping allowed for the Pilgrims that are not equipped with period tents and those that prefer tin tipi's. Usual buckskinning rules apply period dress required at all times. Pilgrims are not required to wear period clothing, please wear clothes that are appropriate for walking in the woods, long pants, long sleeve shirt and a wide brimmed hat for sun protection. Of course if you already have some period clothing you are on your way.

The ranch Gate will be open at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 22nd . Events Friday as available and Saturday until 3:00 p.m.

Aggregate prizes - must be a member to qualify for prizes. Blanket Prize donation is Requested and appreciated.

Membership fee: $15.00 per year. EVERYONE MUST SIGN A RELEASE. Competition fee: $10.00 per competitor (includes camping fee)
Camping only fee: $10.00 per lodge

We are asking for volunteers to lead an event, maybe something new. Contact the Booshway.

There will be a community pot luck supper on Saturday evening (5:30ish). Please plan on having something of a main dish for you and your family to eat and perhaps a little extra to pass around. Vegetables and desserts will be welcomed and so far we have never had anyone go away hungry!
