I shoot a TC Maxi ball out of my CVA which has a 1:48 twist using an over powder wad. It will shoot clover leafs out to 50 yards. It shoots PRB just as well.

TC 48 twist barrels will shoot OK with either ball or bullet. As with all guns, you have to determine what accuracy is acceptable and what load combo gets it there.
