Renegade Used Price?

I would not pay more than $300 for a Renegade, unless it came with extras (peep sight, etc.) or was something special (round ball twist, maybe a nice Green Mountain barrel, etc.). Now having said that, I would not sell any of my Renegades for less than $300 either.

I don’t know if you’d call it panic buyiing or what but people are paying way too much for these things. A good shooter grade Renegade is a $200.00 to $250.00 gun. A really nice one, maybe up to $350.00. It would have to come with extras or have triple A walnut in the stock before l’d give more for it.

An exception to this rule would be the 58cal Big Boar. That one would be up to maybe 500 depending on condition.

Ive seen the big boars goimg for over a 1000 bucks your prices are about 20 years old!!

When the Renegade was new, what was its cost in contemporary dollars. Plus, taxes.

Then, convert those 1979, 1990, whatever dollars into pre-1964 U.S. silver dimes at the contemporary price of silver.

Now, fast forward to 2021. What are those exact same number of U.S. silver dimes worth RIGHT NOW?

That's what your Thompson Center Renegade is truly worth. Not, what you want it to be, but what it is worth in real money. Not, theoretical money, but something with true tangible worth.

Wondering if anyone has some insight as to what a fair price would be for a used TC Renegade .50 in very good condition? Going to be looking at one in a few days and wanted to get an idea what price range would be considered fair. Don't know anything more on the rifle yet. Thanks.

This past fall I paid $300 for a renegade flintlock in so so condition and recently I bought a percussion renegade in excellent condition and gave $275 for it both guns are in 54 caliber. Both are great shooters. Felt lucky to find either one because I had looked for sometime.

We used to buy new Renegades from Ron Shirks shooters supply for $90 in and around 1975. The inflation calculator says this is $443.10 in today's money which would probably be in the ball park for a new one in the box today.

My son in law picked up a 54 TC a couple years ago. It was included with a group sale, 30 30 bolt from 70s, 2 -45 Kentucky pistols, 45 Philadelphia Derringer , a 7mm rifle and I don't remember the 3rd rifle included. But I 2as gifted the Derringer, 1 kentucky pistol and 5he 54 TC Renegade over the next year. Turns out all the BP firearms had been taken to local gun shop and were refused from purchase saying "nobody wants that old stuff anymore" and said the lot wasn't worth 50 dollars.

Geeeez ... if a used Renegade will bring $450, what will my nearly pristine Uberti, Santa Fe Hawken .54 bring ??????

North of $600 maybe as much as 800.
