I love my Traditions Kentucky Pistol but did not like the trigger guard hitting my knuckle. I decided to reshape it slightly to give my knuckle some room. The back is slightly more forward and down the front is pushed out some. The resolution worked no more uncomfortable shooting. I also fixed the floppy trigger used a small spring attached to the trigger to push it down and keep it from flopping saw the fix on YouTube and it works!

I to own a Traditions Kentucky pistol. I love the look and performance. My first round down the barrel was pushed by 50 grains of 3F. She jumped 2 feet in the air. And I have no idea where the ball hit. I know it wasn’t the target. I now use 25-30 grains and she doesn’t beat the c***out of me :) and can make a sloppy group.
I too would love to see that trigger spring mod. mine has that wiggle too.

To reshap I annealed the brass, bring it to a low red heat and quench. Then bent it and lightly hammered it to the shape that felt better giving my knuckle some room. For the spring I used a ball point pen spring cut in half drilled two small holes in the rear part of the trigger and one shallow hole in the stock as seen in the video.
