Това е последната ми реставрация на габровско шишане in Bulgarian translates to 'This is my latest restoration of a Gabrovo shishane' ... I think.

Hi Bobi

OMG !!!! What a beautiful job on restoration. I'm speechless. Wish You lived near me. LOL On second thought, it's probably good you don't. I would likely drive you crazy with questions, and you would get most of my left over money for restoration work. LOL

Congratulations. An outstanding job.

Rick

The shishanes had rifled bores, correct?
Hi Bill

Yes, the shoulder guns with rifled barrels are generally referred to as a Shishane. The same guns with a smooth bore are often referred to as a Tufuk. But both terms seem to be interchangeable depending on where you are standing in the World at the moment. Interesting that of all of the remaining specimens I've seen, the rifled versus smooth bore runs about 50/50.
