13th Amendment

Section 1
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
Section 2
Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

As you can see, slavery as criminal punishment is still perfectly legal.
And also notice, no specific crime, or crimes, as specified.
So, you could be sentenced to lifetime servitude, ie slavery, for any crime, from murder to jaywalking.
What do you think a life sentence at hard labour is?
YET!, Sex slavery still exists in many parts of the world. Tis a shame it exists in many parts of America. Ask the GIRLS and Women who are bought and sold or those unfortunates who are "chained to a tree and 'used' till dead". These Coyotes are qualified for a short life.

Yeah, but criminally obtained "information" should not be used as a bargaining tool, especially if it leads to an ridiculous sentence..1 Day... Sure he was fined and put on probation, but 1 day is an insult to the system.

6 months and we all know that his time would be reduced to likely 3 or 4 months. But he should be made to spend some time "reflecting" at the least.
Would be fitting for the sentence to be equal to the time those historical pieces were missing, but real justice and punishment just doesn't happen nowadays. 😕
