It was modified to be a near replica of the .40 prototypes made by Colt.
I’m hoping to get down to all .457 round ball and conical bullets. I maybe have one or two hundred .454 left on the shelf and only two pistols that shoot them. One of which goes out this week to be reamed to .456. Then the long wait...Those are the ones where you take a 454 ball, put it on the floor and give it tap with flat nose hammer..... Just make sure you load it flat side up (or down)
Did you do the work yourself? It was modified to be a near replica of the .40 prototypes made by Colt.
Who did the work to create a .40? Thanks,
btw, I’ve owned a few that were .456 chambers, tempting to call them .46 caliber. For when a .45 just isn’t enough...
Heh, nope, I just cast the .41 balls!Did you do the work yourself?
He breeched a .45 caliber (.458 grooves, .450 bore) rifle barrel that I’ve mounted in a T/C White Mountain stock. He does nice work for a fair price! The work on the .40 was done by Taylor Machine, Puyallup, WA.
