An article I read - what is it, 40+ years ago?? - I finally found its location. The article titled, "The Shot That Anchors," is in the July/August 1974 issue of Rifle Magazine #40.

Anyone who has the issue, is it possible for you to: make a digital JPEG copy; or photocopy?

I looked at their web site and they do not have that back issue any longer. However, have you contacted them to find if you can get a reprint of that particular article. They may have all of their back issues stored electronically and be able to retrieve that specific article and send you a copy of it. It's worth a try.

There is at least one copy on that auction sight that starts with E and ends with Y.
I didn't check, but you can also often find copies of old magazines on ABE (advanced book exchange)

Yep, you're right, it is July 1975. I checked it out and the article of interest is on page 30 of that issue. The OP is in luck, they do have that back issue in stock.
