Just received back ordered new globe sight for my slug barrel and noticed underneath a small arrow under the dovetail obviously showing direction for install. So then I'm thinking on this "old" front sight that came on the .54 GM barrel, I should just carefully drift out the opposite direction? Checked Green Mtn site and found nothing there, I've never noticed any posting on forums with regards to this. I should add the sight from Track is a Pedersoli, but any possible bevel direction you would think is probably industry standard?
Thanks in advance for opinions. Bob.

I would drift out the current front sight in the direction the arrow on the dovetail of you new sight is pointing. Please keep in mind that you can compensate for any loseness of the new sight by either SLIGHTLY peaning over the rims of the dovetial that is cut into the barrel, or by striking a hard pointed steel punch into the cut dovetail chanel in a few strategic places. Above all, use a light touch. This is almost like explaining how to adjust crosshairs when bore sighting !!

Ideally you always drift the site out from left to right and install right to left. That way the base of the site isn't compressed if the dovetail is just a little smaller. If it does, you can tap it just a hair more to the left and it will tighten up.

I had a loose front site once that just compressed the brass base in my vice. Worked like a charm.
