My leather work has been crappy lately.I tried dying some old deerskins in rit dye and came up with the most phsycodelic skins you ever saw.I.m hoping they will even out after a couple days strirring and squeezing em.If not what now?

Not to be argumentative, but why would you use fabric dye and not leather dye on leather?

Either the skins have spots that are oilier in some spots, or you didn't thoroughly wet the leather first.

Or, like many of us have before, you are experiencing a "Rit moment." I hate when that happens. :haha:

You can dilute leather dye with denatured alcohol, and spray it on with a spray bottle.

You mean like dyeing cotton with black Rit dye and it coming out purple, or dyeing cotton with dark brown and it coming out brick red....Nope, never happens to me

Hmmm, I wonder how well "Rit Moment" cammo would work with "Mossy Oak" ???? :rotf:
