I agree.
Here are TWO reasons I dislike the term “rock lock” -
“Rock”lock is no faster to say than “flint” lock. So there is no benefit in speed or ease of pronunciation
Everyone knows that flint is a type of rock, so why call it by it’s less descriptive name “rock” ?
What are your reasons?

And if I owned a smokepole I would have a rocklock on it. Of course some refer to their firearms as toys.
