I need some help from the experts. Several local collectors have looked at this for me, but they are still unsure of its origins. One very helpful individual believes that it is the work of Roland Savage Dayton from Headsville, WV. Please take a look at the pictures. I am trying to identify this for a family friend who wants me to sell it for him. He is in his 80s, and he got it from either his grandfather or his grandfather's brother. Thanks in advance for your expertise!

Thanks! It may have at one time, but it does not cock at all now. I am a bit hesitant to pull it back too far. It goes back and stops, but it does not lock.

The barrel is 35". The bore is seven sided. I measured .5" from a flat to a point. Does that make is a 50cal?
