Looks great to me and I particularly like the red highlights in the finish never caring for the dark Aquafortise look.Never having handled a flintlock, nor even knowing what a “lock” was, I decided to try a kit, rather than buy one retail. After much research and lacking confidence in building one from parts, I purchased a Woodsrunner in the white from Jim Kibler. It was meant to be a fall project, but I could not wait.
Having watched the Kibler videos, taken this one apart and reassembled it, and now knowing what tools would be required, I believe my next one will not be bought in the white.
The members of the Muzzleloading Forum have been a tremendous help. I do not think that a day goes by that I do not read your posts that ooze so much intelligence and help. Thanks!
I finished the Woodsrunner today, and these are some pictures.
Thanks!It looks great! Congratulations

I can see how a person of your capabilities would say that. And I admire your skill level. But I was not claiming my project to be any more than what it was.More of a snap together than a "build".
Thanks!Nice work! I really like the finish and the patina on the brass! I’m sure it will be a fine shooter!
Sticks and stones! LOL!@Mark DeNicola - don't pay any attention to this guy's comments. He specializes in deprecating new members' build efforts. You done very well. Keep up the good work. Don't mind the detractors.
Thanks! You did a great job on that rifle. Looks very nice!
I guess your momma never advised you that if you didn't have anything nice to say, don't say nothing at all. That kind of comment is totally unnecessary. You might have the skills to make one from scratch, but not everyone else does, nor has the time to learn and practice them to get to that level.More of a snap together than a "build".
When you assembled your first picture puzzle as a kid, did you start with a 1000 piece jig saw puzzle or did you have a 10-20 piece kids puzzle? Baby Steps! One must crawl before one should walk.More of a snap together than a "build".
