I have been reading posts on this forum and have become intrigued with the idea of shooting a muzzleloader, so I took the plunge and ordered a T/C Omega SS/BK yesterday. At age 50 and having been hunting and shooting since I was 13 I am looking forward to learning how to use this rifle. I have never seen a muzzleloader except for in a museum, so in the future if I ask some stupid questions, please understand that I am merely trying to learn.

Welcome Gun Runner,

Time will tell, but folks who have been shooting modern guns find something very fulfilling when they get into this type of fun. But don't limit yourself to exploring the sport through modern inlines only since a lot of the fun of black powder shooting comes from seeing how it was done "way back then". Get aquainted, ask questions and make smoke!

Welcome,

What Liver-Eatin Johnson said. The Omega is a dandy, but sometimes it's good to have a glass of 25 year old scotch and a nice cigar instead of a half dozen Jello shots and a menthol filtered cigarette.

Thanks for the welcome. I feel that this is going to be quite an addictive hobby. In the future, after I get more comfortable with this I would like to get into flintlocks and maybe even build one - from a kit.

I added a picture, if someone else is already using it let me know and I'll pick a different one.

Welcome to the Forum!I can tell by Your posts that You'll be into Flinters before the smoke settles from that in-line.Theres a whole lot more to Traditional Muzzleloading than the Guns. You picked a good gun, won't be hard to deal it off when the Flinter arrives. :redthumb:
