I picked up a pair of ROSCO Mod 3 cal 12m/m muzzle loading cap and ball pistols. The markings show Madison Import Corp, Made in Spain, 10.8 H1 700 KGS. I believe the 10.8 stands for barrel length. These are smooth bore pistols. I'm not sure what standard caliber is equal to 12m/m. That and any other information on these pistols is appreciated. I don't know the value and I don't think they're valuble at all, however they are in good condition and appear to be very usable. Thanks for any help. K45

One inch is equal to 25.4 m/m, so 12 divided by 25.4 = .47 inch/caliber, I would say.

If your pistols are marked "MADE IN SPAIN" and imported by the Madison Import Corp they are most likely modern replica imports.

The 700 KGS refers to the proof pressure (700 KGS = 9957.3 PSI).
I believe this is a modern identification but I don't know how long the Spanish have been using it.

Thanks Spence and Zonie for the information. I have no way of putting a picture on here or I would. They look old but I'm not sure if they are replicas or originals because of the finish and wear. Some people are pretty good at refinishing newer guns to look old. I too, am not sure how long Spain has been importing guns over here. What surprised me is the smooth unrifled barrels.
