I bookmarked this last year...it's interesting but I'm not sure about the automatic "minimum twist" calculation part of it.

My TC round ball barrels in .45, .50, and .54 are all 1:66" twist and are all more accurate than I can shoot them, yet the "automatic twist" calculator suggests 1:66" for the .45, then
slower and slower twists for the .50 and .54.

Thoughts?

...Which then makes me pause about the credibility of the other calculations...
 
The calculator is apparently set up to give the standard engineering handbook answers. The twists shown may be the optimums, but as a practical matter, the rifling twists commonly available are "good enough".
