Hi all
Where is a good place to get 395 Hornady round balls? I checked track and the price is right but the shipping is way to much.
Thanks Stan

Yeah, mailing lead can be pricey. If you want to buy a year's supply at an economical price contact Eddie May. He will ship you a flat rate box maxed out for weight. For an example, I bought 1000 balls for $80 and that included shipping. Weight was right close to 70 lbs ( the max. weight allowed for that size F.R. box). I don't have his number handy but if you use the search function you will come across it.

1000 balls and 70 Lbs, that's 1.12 ounces or 490 grains per ball, what caliber you shooting, 68 or 72? Good advice on how to get them cheaper though.

Eddie casts a large variety of round balls. Quality & price are good. A very useful deal when acquiring a different caliber gun is to order several sizes of ball from Eddie & trying various combos of ball size & patch thickness before buying a mold. Any left over ball can simply be recast to the desired size. Lots cheaper than buying a mold that turns out to be a bit over or under your best fit. If you don't want to get into casting, he is still an excellent source for reasonably priced balls.

If you tell Eddie you are trying to find the right load for your gun he will send you several different sizes. He would rather sell in bulk but has always sent me just a few to try out with no problem. He is a very nice guy to talk to also.

Cannon balls? Sorry the 70 lbs. is a large flat rate box. Alls I know is it was heavy. I had to laugh because the UPS guy asked "What is in there, lead?"

Graf & Sons has them as well, they have a $7.95 flat shipping charge on internet orders...I usually get a big order together and let them deliver...
