Can you suggest a source of information on how to do this?

Kit ravensheers booklets are a good guide.

There are many ways to accomplish it, one of which is to weld on a new frizzen face.

other methods are brazing on, riveting on or silver soldering on a frizzen face.

some really good lock makers can dovetail on a frizzen face to the old frizzen face.

This is the way I did mine. Rivet method. Start at post #24. Worked great, easy to do and has proven to be a very reliable shooter.
