After a long time, years really , I'm finally finishing up my smoothie. I noticed some spots of surface rust, very little and fine grained in the barrel. What's the best way to remove this. Should I shoot it first or remove the rust? Should I lap it with a lead plug? ...Geo

I would either use 0000 steel wool on a long rod in and out or if it is too bad put some black wet/dry sand paper in a slotted tip on the rod, chuck it in your drill and run it in and out until it is cleaned up and polished good. Before you shoot it.

Dang! your just full of good ideas Rebel!
Next year I'll teach you all I know about catching fish..... :rotf:

Get a bronze chamber brush for your bore size. Not a bore brush but a modern chamber brush which is a little bigger. Wrap a thin amount of OOOO steel wool around it and soak with Breakfree CLP or something like it, put it on a rod and chuck it in your drill. Give her a few spins, always moving the brush back and forth the full length of the barrel.
