I wish someone made a reproduction of the Savage Navy .36 revolver.

I have a good friend, the one who's lathe and milling machine I can use, who has built muzzleloaders from scratch before. He kinda specialized in underhammer, HEAVY barrel match rifles. He kicked butt at Friendship IN for several years. I'm gonna issue him challenge to built he and myself a couple of Savage revolvers.

Yeah, I read that a goverment order didn't happen, so massive numbers were never made because the decision makers in charge didn't believe that a .36 was enough gun for the army. Seems odd to me that the US Navy was good with a .36 but the Army wanted .44s.

The requirement came from the Army pistols potentially needing to kill cavalry horses. The .44 was ultimately better suited to that than the .36s.
