I miked the jean cloth and it came out at .031" so my quest began. We went to Wally World and I pulled out the mics and started to work. I'm sure the girl at the counter wondered what I was up too, putting the mics to cloth and all,LOL. Anyway, after a few trys I hit upon some light purple denium cloth that's 100% cotton and mics out at .030", close enough for government work. It was going for a whoppin' $2.44/yrd and there was just over 5 yards so I bought it all. Waste not, want not. So now I've got plenty of thick patch martrial for my smoothbore.

Yep, that's what I figured. No need to worry about em' for a long, long time.
On a side note, I did put my last two shots close to center in a 10" target at about 40 yrds with the 80grs fffg/.690"roundball/jean patch combo. Once I stopped trying to sight it and just pointed it like a shotgun should be shot it hit right nicely.
