Everyone loves a good cap and ball revolver, but I just want a single shot to fool around with in my spare time without having to load of musket

Also, I am curious if anyone has tried or if you would be able to load one of these with shot for snakes

I've had a couple repros, CMC I think. Never could get them to pop a cap under normal use. Had to manually release the hammer to make it fire. 20gr 3f and about the same of shot. Powder, wasp nest, shot and top it off with wasp nest. Will make a soda can dance at about 5 feet, maybe more. My shot is a mix of #9, 6 and 4. It was given to me. I would think the #4 is the one did more damage. I have dispatched a rattler with a Phillie derringer. Maybe about a couple feet. It was handy at the moment and loaded it pretty quick. Didn't try it out again though. Don't remember how much powder. Just poured some in my hand to what looked like maybe 40gr 2f and same of shot. And of course wasp nest.
