Friends,

I've "heard" that there is an active TX- Revolution era Ranging Company group of re-enacters but the only "713 area code" phone number that I had is now "disconnected or no longer in service". - The unit's Chief Ranger supposedly lives in Humble, TX.

IF any member has the correct/current contact info for the unit, PLEASE post it here or send me a PM.

yours, satx

SATX, contact Scott McMahon, the director at Presidio La Bahia in Goliad. He has been involved with early Ranger events in the past.

Theres a David Vickers in South Texas. Not real sure if he's even still active in re-enacting but he used to be. I think he has an active web site. He can be contacted at Chiltipin Creek Custom Hats.He may have retired but it cant hurt to try.

Eutycus,

THANK YOU. - I beiefly spoke with Mr. Vickers (He's at the Grand Lodge of TX today but will call me back tonight or tomorrow.) & YES he is still a WBTS re-enactor.

If he hasn't contacted you by tomorrow I'll see if I can contact a couple of brothers who re-enact also here in South Texas. They possibly could help.

THANKS.

I understand him being too busy to talk at GRAND LODGE for the Freemasons. - I would have "put someone off" had I been at the GRAND PROMENADE of our military fraternity.

Eutycus,

I finally got back to Mr. Vickers (We've had a lot of sickness in the family & I was too busy to get back to him until today.) & he doesn't know who the current Captain of the Ranging Company or if the group is still active.

THANKS for trying to help.

yours, satx

I see this is an old post, but I've joined the Texas Army, and we reenact the Battle of San Jacinto, among others.
The next one is at Fort Velasco on June 26, 2021.
Our last battle was at Fort Anahuac (photos at facebook for Chambers County Historical Commission (20+) Chambers County Historical Commission | Facebook ), because the San Jac folks didn't want us there. I think they changed their minds after a small showing for their p.c. gathering. We did fire salutes at San Jac on San Jacinto Day (4/21 for non-Texans), and had a blast.
Find us on facebook at The Texas Army. I hope to see you at an event.
Colonel John
