I was looking at the traditions product webpage and they state they can't ship to Ohio.

Is it illegal to ship BP arms to individuals in Ohio? I was always under the impression it was legal. I tried google search but keep coming up with hunting regulations.

Cabela's was recently sued for shipping a muzzle loading revolver to a felon who bought it over the phone and then killed someone with it.
The victims family filed a lawsuit alleging that Cabela's didn't follow Ohio state law.--->>> https://www.the-daily-record.com/ne...le-man-sues-cabelas-for-selling-gun-to-killer
Now other companies are worried about being sued for shipping BP guns to Ohio.

According to the NRA about Ohio gun laws:

"Antiques and Replicas
Antique and antique replica rifles, shotguns, or handguns are treated like modern arms for possession, carrying and purchase purposes."--->>> https://www.nraila.org/gun-laws/state-gun-laws/ohio/

Thanks for the reply, makes getting black powder guns more of a pain lol.

Shipping an ml is, or should be, no different than any non-gun object. But, some states have restrictive laws. Pays to double check. Just because a lawsuit is filed doesn't mean the reason is just. The outcome of that suit should be interesting.

e

There is a difference between bp firearms and muzzle loading firearms. That Ohio law says no bp firearms. That could mean breech loading cartridge firearms which would be illegal in Ohio. Muzzle loaders are a different gun. Too many loop holes in that law.
