I generally never a shoot off rest-every time I do the rifle (M/L) does not print on the target the way I shoot off hand.So is it better to rest the rifle on the barrel,or the the forend (like you were shooting off hand).I can no longer shoot off sticks(bad back, and knee's)besides, by the time I get down there,I forget why I was there in the first place...Respectfully Montanadan..All M/L's are right handed but I shoot left handed...

My rifles shoot different from the rest and offhand also.
They tend to shoot left offhand when I have them dead on from the bench.
I would rest the forend on the bench like you would offhand.
I try to rest the rifle as high off the bench as possible so I am not scrunching down to line up my sites but still can't get it to shoot the same both ways.

There are many left hand muzzleloaders out there.
I know Lyman makes them.

:) I have found that by placing the rifle on my hand and the back of my hand on the rest, head up as close to standing position works well.
