from what i have seen ( iam a shooter & not a collecter) there are a lot of c&b colts here.both london & us manufactured.they were very popular during the gold rush times.mostly pocket &navey models.most state police were issued with navies at some time and some rev carbines as well. colt was getting 12pounds from the british gov. & 50 pounds on the gold fields for a navey. :hatsoff:
 
Good to know. I know that Colts went all over the world, but I haven't found too much (easy to find) detailed documentation on it.

On a sidenote, private dealers sold hundreds of thousands of Civil War surplus muskets to the French government. Many which got captured by the Prussians were later given to the Ottomans.
