Well the proofs are Birmingham post 1814 probably just an export gun but you didn't pay too much & Ime pleased you saw sense in not ruining it . Worth more as is , if cut its scrap.. The fact its 'drum & nippled ' no guns made in England as percussion did that . So suggests it was originally flint later put to cap in the US or UK . The name as its assessed is likley just a Boston retailer or might be the real original Boston in Lincolnshire .Fairly flat water fowl country . Could be just the sort some rustic Gentleman might seek for said Waterfowl . All my guess, it can't talk but we can read them sometimes . Just looked up Barnes of Boston Lincs no such listed .
