This morning I took my North Star West Light Dragoon Carbine to the range. I did not shoot this much before spring Friendship and I did not shoot it much while I was there. So I wanted to wring this musket out at 25 yards on paper. I wanted to nail down my 25 yard sight picture. To this end I laid out 15 balls and 15 greased patches. I did not rush I took my time with each shot. My first shot was the seven o'clock 9. This was operator error. My next few shots began to group low in the 10 ring. I wanted to move the group just a little higher into the X ring. The 2 o'clock nine was this attempt. All the rest of the shots landed in the 10 ring. That ended up 13 tens and two 9s. I think if I can properly adjust the Nut Behind the Butt Plate This Carbine might do well in the fall matches. If not it ain't the Carbine!
