4 or 5 years ago I found my Mountain Rifle in a pawn shop in Wisconsin. Took it home and loaded it with 60 grains bp, a .15 patch, and a .490 rb. Having never even fired it I took it squirrel hunting and was 2 for 2 with it. Took it deer hunting and took my deer with it. Never bothered trying finding a better load for it! 😀. Greg
 
65 grains 2f Goex a .495 ball and .015 pillow tick patch. I am currently using a liquid spray on lube but have not seen any difference to what lube I use, other than how often I have to swab. I do have to start this load with a mallet and a mandrel. It is POA accurate. If I use a .490 ball I can use a short starter and in all honesty, accuracy does not suffer.
