Shot the Uberti Colt replica yesterday. This gun could make me a respectable shot. Well maybe not respectable but I actually hit what I was aiming at putting my “The World's Worst Shot' title in jeopardy. Boy do Coke cans jump when hit by this guy.
I love this gun. I have had it for five years, or so, and this is the first time to shoot it.

20grs Pyrodex P and CCI #11, Hornady balls.

Had a gun for 5 years and never shot it? :rotf:
I've got new ones a few times when the weather kept me back for a few days maybe, but 5 years,
couldn't do it.

I bought 2 guns 1860 army, and 2nd model dragoon 3 years apart. They were from the 60's and had been in the same collection for 50+ years and had never been fired.

I got a Dragoon for my wedding anniversary in December and then a Colt Army for Christmas. A quick glance at the log shows I have put just under 400 rounds through the two of them in about a month and a half. I sure do like them!

Some people buy guns as collector items, investments, whatever and put them away unfired.
I don't, I buy them to shoot.

5 years... :shocked2:

I have guns that I haven't shot in years, but that's different. :idunno: (I've made a point of taking things out of storage and getting them out to the range over that last 2 years but there still a few yet to be shot again).

Everything I own got shot as fast as I could get it to the range when I first got it.

Cheers,

David

I've had my ROA for 26 years next month, and it gets shot at least twice a month. My Colt Walker less than that, since I'll only use real BP in it and I have to rely on other folks' generosity.

Gosh, you guys are really goona razz me because I have other BP revolvers that I haven’t shot in 25+ years! I have several new ones that are in the two to five year range and still never been shot.

Be gentle, now!

That fluted cylinder Colt replica is a honey and it's gonna be shot more! Believ me on that one.

That's why in previous posts I have written about said model Colt, I exclaimed that it shot so good it helped me to earn my Expert in ML Pistol! That charcoal-blued 1860 Army is the tightest-shooting BP revolver that I own, and it belongs to my Son, so I have to ask his permission to use it :haha: .

I've shot his at 50 yards onto a B-6, and scored better than 80x100 points with it! You will surely enjoy yours!!

If there is anything else you own and haven't tried yet, we'd be glad to tell you what to expect :haha: :idunno: :rotf: :) .
