Shotgun accessories

I'm trying to get into your pocket a little bit, but about the handiest device around for lots of shots from a shotgun is a shot flask (or snake) with an Irish head. No fiddling and no fuss, and darned little if any spilled shot. This is an example of what I'm talking about. You can save lots of money by buying the Irish head yourself and making one, or slap cash and buy one already made. Either way, it will sure come in handy on hunts with a fair bit of shooting.

Not mandadtory by any means, but high on the "nice to have" list.

Mine were cabelas and no where near $92.00, maybe for the pair?? still if yer using the SS in the filed a bunch you'll want a pair

I bought a couple (that needed minor repair) from E-Bay for about $20. Look around...they're available.

If you have a wooden or antler short starter you could drill a recess into it that your rods would fit into. Works rather well.

Palm saver is really nice for loading tightly fitting patched ball. You don't need it for shot loads.

I use a shot snake all the time for shooting clay targets (love it). For shooting grouse and woodcock I carry a few plastic vials with a measured shot load in them.

I use a powder flask that adjusts, and use the same plastic vial to transfer the powder into muzzle.

I use a U-view powder flask to carry and dispense my shot. Works OK with #6 shot, just don't fill it all the way, leave a little airspace so you can shake the shot in to your powder measure. I carry my powder in a copper flask I got years ago.
