Just wondering if it would be possible to attach a shoulder stock to a cannon, making it legal to deer hunt with in states that have no maximum caliber restriction.
Also mounting a powerful telescope on the barrel when you are firing cannister shot at deer.
Might make on awesome deer getter.

Greetings Some of the Swivel guns had shoulder stocks incorparated in the barrel design.. but then you would neeed a portable ships rail also.

I always wanted to mount my 2"bore cannon on the front of a boat and slowly move along the shores of a lake in the morning fog and come up on a big moose by the waters edge and blast him with a cannon ball. I bet it would air him out just fine.

Now that just might work for me. Would have to come up with some way to trailer it into the public hunting grounds. :idunno:
Could you imagine what would be going thru that deer's mind if he could see 148 round balls coming at him at once. Holy Cr...!!! :surrender:
Would make the hunters around you wonder what large caliber rifle your hunting with.
Been fun

I am sure that more than one artileryman tried this back in the day!

Thanks,
