Birddog. The middle knife sort ta reminds me of a Little skinner I use to make out of sandvik industrial band saw blades for logging mills . The blade was about the shape of yours except I added a gut hook on mine..

There was a third knife in that set, but I gave it to a friend. I do plan on making a replacement.

When I set up my shop with your permission I would like very much to make that blade.Of course I'll add few of my own touches.. :grin: So I don't cramp your style too badly. :thumbsup:

The only thing you can do to keep Osage Orange (Bois De Arc) from turning brown is keep it out of the sun. That will only slow it down. The second best way is use a finish with a lot of UV inhibitor in it. For instance a water based lacquer or a marine grade hybrid varnish. Luthiers also use it to protect the hi dollar musical instruments. If your really interested look up Oxford water based finishes.
