I agree. I'm always careful about loading and use a heavy-duty 3-piece brass range rod and collar. A bit fuzzy photo, but you get the idea.

The brass funnel guides are better than nothing by a long shot but are not as good as a down bore guide which support the loading rod much better against the rather fragile land corners and tops.
Actually Delrin plastic is probably the best of all material for loading rod guides as brass can peen a land corner under the right circumstances but Delrin never can.
A mishandled soft brass hammer or drift punch will quickly educate you as to how effectively brass can peen over barrel steel.
