Evan, no it is brand new as I bought it in Dec 2019. I have since determined to go totally Flintlock and stick with them for all my Smoothbore hunting or target requirements. The gun is beautiful and the only thing I have done is cleaned out the grease from the barrels and oiled everything down. I will even throw in a Brass Ted Cash capper which holds 100 #11 caps, a 20 ga cleaning jag, ball puller, bore brush, and the ram rod is one I made that is black fiberglass with the correct tulip tip design for the rammer end and has a 10/32 adapter on the other end. I bought these from Track of the Wolf. I am just going all Flintlock for my smooth bore hunting.

Muzzle loading shotguns are fun. Making a choice is personal. I started with a Belgian 12 ga. original sxs I found at a gun show in in 1967. It wighed 11 pounds. I was in my 20s then and that weight didn't matter when on the hunt. Many years later I took that gun to the trap range at Friendship and after a 15 bird match I was worn out. The gun was traded for a lighter one. It would depend on variables in making a choice. There are good replicas and originals. My personal choices have been originals. You have to be careful with British guns because they used soft solder to joint the barrels on sxs. Belgian barrels tended to have been brazed and generally will not spring a rib when in use. I have had two British guns re-soldered that had sprung ribs. Be very careful in making a choice whether replica or original. Check out Gunbroker or Gunsinternational for percussion shotguns. Proxbid also lists them from time to time. Another source is Dick Chubb, in Mich. HIs # is 269 695 3336. He specializes in antique shotguns, restores them for sale. He has set up quite a booth at the NMLRA spring and fall nationals in Friendship, Ind. Good luck with the shotgun search.

I’m looking to buy a 20 or 12 gauge side by side percussion shotgun. I live in MA and muzzleloaders can be shipped to my door. I’ve done it many times. Only modern firearms require a FFL. Please post pics with any offers.

Thanks

I have seen two on gun broker yesterday for a good price
