I'm looking to fix my enfield sites with a dovetail base up front but also am pondering some additional sighting upgrades.

I like peeps and I think the tang sights are nice period looking but not sure if they could mount in with the existing hardware (1861 enfield musketoon by euroarms). Anybody try this or other peep sights? If it is to much a PITA might just try to stay with the military ladder sights but just seeing my options, if any.

Thanks!

There are some good aftermarket tang sights that you should be able to fit on that .. As a rule the shoot well, shoulder nicely, and look good too.

I took a quick picture of what I am working with.

I'm looking it some more and not sure if a tang sight would work... but maybe some folks have done so :)

The Zoli Zouave I have has two holes in the top of the wrist where a previous owner had a vernier sight mounted to the wood. The wrist is beefy and I believe with long enough screws would be pretty sturdy and much easier to mount than drilling/tapping the tang.
