Just got a Pedersoli trade gun 20 gauge. Any recommendations on a starting sight picture at say 50 yards? I'll probably start with a linen patched .600 ball with about 70 gr of 3f.

I use the tang bolt as a sort of rear sight or reference point with which to aim. Also, one of the things I love most about my smoothbore trade gun is the fact that I don't need to patch roundballs. I use 80 grains of FFF, a .600 roundball and just a 1" square wad of cut 100% wool blanket on top. It is an absolute joy to not have to use a short starter or to fight a tight ball down the barrel. I can also get a good 15-20 shots in without swabbing the barrel. That's just how I like.
