Sight Removal

I have an older TC Hawken barrel that's pretty much trash. I have salvaged the rear sight off of it, as it was screwed to the barrel. I want to remove the front sight also and use it on another gun. Front sight is dovetailed i, need to know the best way to remove it. Thanks in advance.

Use a brass drive and just knock out. Examine closely first. Some dovetails are cut with a taper and, if that is the case, just knock towards the large side.

Usually muzzleloaders are left to right just like the lock bolts. Modern guns are usually opposite if tapered at all.

Do you want to sell the rear sight that you removed?

I usually spray PB Blaster on front sight to break rust from underside. Makes task a lot easier on unkept barrels.
