Sight Tricks.. whats yours

Playing with my sights a little trying to be able to see them a little better in the winter snow and really just making them more pleasent to look at. Does anyone else work on their sights to suit yourselves or your eyes better?

Yes sir I did and what I did for my old eyes is mounted a Williams peep sight on my rifle,my trade guns I just have point I put on target a shoot .
You just gotta do what ever works for you cause we’re all a little different just like our guns ,oh and shoot often and lots of.

Been thinking it may soon be necessary to go with a peep as well, or at least a buckhorn.

Hey different strokes for different folks! I like a larger front sights and wider rear sight notch thin front sights dissappear in this stuff

Its actually wider than it came! It's been filed open slightly. I cut in the horizontal and vertical cuts in the rear sight and cut the serrations on the front blade to hold color better(cleaner) I have 1/4 -1/5 front sight width open space on each side of the front sight when centered

I always play with my sights, except on original vintage guns. So do whatever it takes to make them work better for you

I don't mess with the sights but I really do try to focus on my breathing, trigger touch and follow through. If I do that, I generally here a ding out there where I was pointing.

As you have already done, I open my rear sight so I see daylight on both sides of my front sight. Also, with aging eyes, I have peep sights on some guns. I like a front sight about .060 to .070 wide with yellow paint at the tip. I use fletch-lac or testors. The super thin blades just disappear to my eyes.

Opening the rear sight to a square notch has helped me add a few minutes to my hunting day, and a few points to my woodswalk score.
