I am in the process of refurbishing a old cva caplock. I would like to replace the factory rear sight with a more traditional sight,There are several differant sizes. Can some tell what is the correct height to match the factory front sight. Thanks in advance for any info.

I did the same thing a few years ago with my CVA, and I'm not a great gunsmith by any stretch.

I bought a buckhorn rear and a brass blade front sight from Dixie Gun Works. Installed them in the existing dovetails. Took some files to the range, and had it sighted in in a couple of hours.

Easy change.

How did you redo yours? I stripped the stock and restained it with mini wax red maple and I have browned the barrel.Gouing to brown the hammer and tang this weekend and do some tack work on the stock, leaving the brass as is,nice and tarnished.

Deer Creek has all the old/new CVA sights, parts. Fred :hatsoff: 765 525 6181 I would use the sight from the "Elk rifle" they use to make, works great on my CVA mountain.
