Hey All!!! Thanks again for the cleaning advice...test fired and succeeded to punch holes in paper! :) My rifle is an Investarm(Italian)Hawken .50Cal. I want to put new, higher quality sights on it. I want to stay traditional(Open or Peep Style) Can you make recommendations on what brands/models fit my Hawken?

The sights that Lyman have for their linup should work with your Hawken being that Investarms also makes their parts.

Stay away from the "buckhorn" rear sights. They are not allowed in a lot of competition matches. Other than that whatever pleases your eye and fits the gun is OK.

Many Klatch

I would add that peep sights are also not allowed in primitive matches but if you're strictly hunting and plinking a peep rear sure beats open.

Excellent info guys!!! Thank You. Found the sights I need through Lyman...PERFECT!!! I'll be posting another question shortly :)

Your Hawken does not have a dovetail for the rear sight, it is held on by two screw. I think the Lyman sights are dovetailed.

It is my understanding that buckhorn sights are allowed as long as there is at least 1/4 inch between the buckhorns. Less tha 1/4 inch they are sometimes clasified as a peep. I have buckhorn sights on my target rifles and have never been questioned about them, other than the gap, which I opened up to 1/4 inch.
