I bought one of the Signature Series years ag, don't remember much about it, what I do remember was the first time that I shot it, Bullitt impact was WAY, WAY to the left. I'm talking 8" at 15 yards
When I got it home and took it apart I looked at the frame and barrel fit, I could see that the frame had been machined off, at least 6 degrees from square. I contacted Colt, sent it back and they repaired the poor machining, even sent me a target, fired from a bench with five shots grouping
Eventually a friend needed it more than I, so I sold it to him
Nice revolver after issues were taking care of ( In the 70's)

Maybe I'll list my C series 2nd Gen Navy for $6000 then
I just saw one of the Colt 1980s Heritage series of a Dragoon on GunBroker with a STARTING BID of $7,000.00 ???
7-8 years ago, these were going from $300-500. One guy during that time was selling his father's collection, he had one of every model offered in the series. He was willing to do a "buy it now" for $300 each if you bought the whole collection.
I am not sure what is happening but these are having starting bids over $1000.00 each and they are selling.

Are people just stupid and believe these are "originals" or is there something else going on in this market?

Likely variations that hard core collectors know about that others do not.

People who feel they are "an investment " are buying up what they feel are collectible guns

A "made in Belgium" 1860 Army stock (I assume for a Centaur?) Just went for almost $800 on Ebay and people are paying $600 for Pietta shoulder stocks

This is why I'm buying all the new Uberti and Piettas I want now before the next "panic" and nothing is available for years again

I have a Belgian 1860 with the matched shoulder stock-I guess I should actually put it IN the safe!
