Since these are a true .45 they are legal for deer in NY. It's great hunting with a 3 lb. or less gun. I limit my range to 10 yds. If I get that close then I put out my pipe load the gun and shoot him. Haven't shot a deer in 25 years but I love hunting them.

I believe that I may have found a possible flaw in your hunting technique. It may be that you are smoking the wrong pipe tobacco. Or you could try adding a little doe urine to the present mixture--that'll bring 'em in real close! :rotf:

Rusty? Why do you want to put doe urine in a pipe? Let me explain this for you. The Skoal goes between the lip and the gum. The Half and Half goes in the pipe. Please do not mix these up or you will have more of these ideas. :rotf:

I don't usually share my favorite hunting techniques, but given the hard times we're going through I'll make an exception. If you mix the doe urine with the Skoal and tuck it down between your cheek and gum as usual, and then sit very still, the biggest, fattest bucks will come right up to you and give you a big wet kiss. Then you just whack 'em over the head and tag 'em. A more advanced technique follows the same steps except instead of whacking them on the head, you slip a bit between their teeth and holding the reins tightly, you swing up on the deer's back and ride him home. It's a real time and labor saver!
