I made this to hold a couple of spare flints while in the Woods.

Just something to do, trying to pass time before the start of the deer season.

Very nice job. Nice and compact.
What did you use for lacing it together??

I made a 3 flint flint wallet a week or so ago and now wish I had made it a 2 flinter. Yours is much more compact. Great job.

Edit: When does your deer season begin?

Thanks Snagg,
Iused artificial Sinew.I bought it at Track of the wolf. Our Deer season opens 2 weeks from tomorrow.I'm starting to get cabin fever. :v

That's a perfect little flint wallet. Good size, great looks. I might hafta make a similar one. I ordered one from TOW to get me started, but I know it's larger than what I need. Thanks for the pics!

This may be a stupid question, but I don't understand why you need a flint wallet. Why not just have them loose in your shooting bag? Is it just a matter of being organized, or is it to protect the flint edges from damage?

When I first got into Flintlocks I had all my flints rattling around in a big open bag.An old skinner hauled me to the side and suggested I make a "Wallet" to put them in.I'm thinking one to hold 50 would be quite monstrosity....I might attempt one sometime if I can get the leather.

You inspired me to make a couple today, they hold two flints each as yours. The only thing different is i stitched mine with my old Singer patching machine. :hatsoff:

Why not just have them loose in your shooting bag?

Aside from the reasons of hurt fingers and damaged flints, I worked hard on my bag and also on the ball bag and do not want them damaged by loose and sharp flints.

I made a few from the tops of an old pair of leather boots. Worked fine.

OOOO! Awesome idea. I have a 30 year old pair of hiking boots gathering dust in the garage. Now I know why I kept them. Thanks for the tip.
