Make your own.
Yes: Make you own from aluminum cans and toy cap gun ribbons
This was just for informational purposes to explain why primers are becoming and will become increasingly rare for some time.
I'm not one to cry on this thread for two reasons: I know how to make my primers perfectly, including the right primary explosive, and without having to touch the kids' toys.
As for me, I have enough primers in front of me to say "I have more primers than a bishop could bless" :D :D.......
Too bad black powder is rationed by law to four pounds... :(

Simple fact demand controls supply. Up until a few yeas ago when the price of modern ammo went sky high you could buy 22 shells cheaper than percusion caps. A large demand kept supply up and prices down. Black powder shooters are not nearly as plentiful as modern shooters so we have to learn to make do with what we can get.

I just bought 1000 #10 for my pistol and 1000 musket caps also musket nipples for my rifles already had musket nipples on my sxs and will soon order a cap maker but point being caps are available now but may not be later so stock up Before you ask I paid $120 per 1000 shipping and hazmat included $12 per 100 its a high price but can shoot my guns also if I run low I can shoot my Flintlocks which I do anyway
I think you most certainly did the right thing buying them. The way things stand right now if you don't have them you may not get them for a long time. Did you get the CCI #10 caps off of GunBroker?

Yeah, I'm not paying a HAZMAT fee plus shipping. I will make my own. I do not have money to give away.
Hazmat and shipping is cheaper to me than driving to get them at a dealer that actually has them in stock. Make my own tried that long time ago no way will I try now.

There is a tin of CCI #11 Magnum percussion caps on GunBroker right now with 10 bids and it is at $67 and $13 shipping and still has almost two days to go.

Five tins of Remington #11 caps just sold for $205 plus shipping and tax.
Jeepers…that’s insane. I cannot believe it.

20+ years ago, I started shooting flintlocks. With the price of flints going up, I’ve collected about 40-50 lbs of flint. Now I’m going to try and learn how the knapp flints for my firearms.

500 percussion caps for $205…OMG!!!!! My heart is out to all of our percussion shooters…

With tax, shipping, and hazmat that total will push $240 for five tins of 100. That is about $47.50 for 100 caps. Several single tins for sale that are at $30 plus with $13 to $20 shipping each. There is another pound of Goex 3F on there now and it is at around $55 plus $33 shipping. Crazy.

Really glad that I bought that percussion cap maker kit.

Hey if anybody wants some percussion caps. I'll sell you a hundred of them for $30 free shipping, LoL.
I watch the goings on on Gunbroker just to see what new heights the craziness will go too. I can understand and sympathize with a new to black powder pistol or rifle owner that just bought a weapon and now finds out they can't find any caps for sale anywhere near by. They grab a can of 100 for $40. If you go to the range and fire your rifle ten times that gives you ten trips to the range out of one can of caps. I guess you could say that is still cheap fun. $40 worth of modern cartridge rounds goes in one short range trip.

There is a good You Tube video on percussion cap sizes. The guy goes though trying CCI, Remington, Winchester, and the German ones in #10 and #11 sizes on different make pistols. There is a definite difference between the CCI and Remington cap sizes in say #10. The CCI caps are smaller even though both both marked #10 or #11. The CCI #11 caps fit like Remington #10's. The CCI #10 caps worked well on some of the earlier pistol as they had smaller nipples. On those pistols the Remington #10 caps were too loose and would fall off. On different years and makes of guns the nipple sizes were slightly different size. Best bet is to have some of each on hand and see which flavor of cap your single shot rifle, pistol, or revolver likes.

If you get a #11 nipple that fits in terms of the threading, you can turn/file/sand it down to fit any #10 caps you have. That's how I'm using #10 caps on my Traditions Crockett rifle. For a revolver, I grant you that it's a bit of a pain to do that to six nipples at a time.
