Is that a crack in the stock forward of the lock, and under the lock. Wondering as I have a friend looking for a smoothbore and want to be sure before I tell him to take a look.

No, I have a friend who is in the hunt for a smooth bore, thought about letting him take a look. It sure looks like a crack or a wood inclusion that runs to the top of the barrel inlet, either way my thoughts are that it could eventually lead to stock problems, and I don't want to pass this along to a friend.
