He builds first rate firearms and has for quite a while. I've seen a couple of his guns and they are neatly made, quality pieces. TOW often has a couple of his guns on consignment and they usually don't last long.

Yep!! About twenty years ago I had the chance to buy a 12 Gauge double flintlock he built. My wife said to do it but I felt I couldn't afford it at the time. Boy was that a STUPID decision. Wish I could get it now.

I saw that double. If it's the same one, you screwed up! lol

Dave built my smoothy. He's a good guy. Builds a quality firearm at a VERY reasonable price. I don't have any pics of mine on my computer, but I could take a few and e-mail them to you if you like. Or post them.

I told Dave that I wanted an English fowler that looked like it had been used hard, but not abused for about a year. I've owned this gun for about 3 years now, it still looks almost identical to the day I picked it up. If you notice anything blurry on the pics it's probably the grease I put on it too keep the rust away. It's a typical Pennsylvania fowler, 20 gauge, 42 inch barrel.

Just out of curiosity, are you going to pick it up at his shop or are you buying one of his guns from a supplier? He will give you a much better deal than a supplier. I paid $1350 for mine........I was offered 2k for it about a month ago. I'd never sell it. I like it too much. Everyone who has shot it likes it.

Hope this helps.

That should still be his phone number. He's in Bruceton Mills, WV.

My mistake...my fowler has a 46 inch Getz barrel. Dunno what made me type 42 inch.

I actually already own one that I did buy from TOW and yeah they marked it up pretty high and I just wanted it. BUT Im thinking about having one made and want to deal directly with the maker.. figure the gun I have now is nice but I can't hit decent with it?
it could be me or I just haven't found the right load yet I don't know but it is fun to shoot cept the stock is too big and it has a very hard trigger pull.

I want to have a basic smoothie made like a poorboy but this one I want a rear sight,I don't compete but I do need the accuracy more than anything. I will give Dave a call and see whats cooking. thanks forn the posts, Ted
