Got a great deal recently on an Ethan Allen-pattern .36 Snakeyes pistol. I have some .370 balls which of course won't work with patching but maybe a felt OP wad and a whack on a short starter will do?

I'll have to mike the balls I use in mine (I think they are .350), but I've used either a greased felt wad or thin patch w/ success. W/ a wad, I use a pinch of tow over the ball to keep it down tight on the powder.

If you have the Ethan Allen by Hoppe's please don't call it the "Snake Eye" which was/is the crappy version of a side by side offered by Classic Arms. I am in the process of finishing mine (see metal finishing ideas in the gun builder section). A .350 patched ball is what you need.

Still have some final sanding to go, and have not installed the triggerguard or front sight.

I have a Hoppes Ethan Allen Pepperbox. Gift from a friend about 40 years ago I believe. It was a kit that I browned and finished. I did load and fire it about 20 years ago. Interesting single action revolver without sights.

good to know I cannot just ram a 0.375 ball down mine!
