😁

Ok picked op the guns and after a quick inspection I am well pleased.

Pistol
Pedersoli Harper's Ferry 58cal rifled,
Date code AF 1980
Looks like it was used a bit but taken care of. Rifling is good and bore and breach face are shiny. Oiled patch seated against the breach.looks like an issue with the mainspring, but it sparks, and it has been used.

So for the rifle
44" 54cal, swamped, bore is clean and shiny had the same oiled patch again the breach face. Barrel is coned also. There is an attempt at some carving.
The lock, it is well tuned, sparks real good, triger pull is very light. New triggers gauge is in the mail, but at a guess I'd say sub 4lb, trigger breaks clean and fast.

I'm a happy camper

Very nice. Wow, good thing I didn't drive by there. I got a good deal on a Pedersoli Brown Bess carbine at Iron & Wood about a week and a half ago and thought "Okay, that's all I need, no more shopping for muzzleloaders." The deals you mentioned are going to sorely test my resolve!

It must not have been there long, I check there almost weekly. They have had the two Potsdam muskets that he wants way to much for sitting there for awhile. Good you found it before I did.

I love live auctions. I use to go to many gun and antique auctions. Came home one day with a trunk full of rifles. Damned good thing I didn't get a traffic stop...lol. In this area there aren't as many of these live auctions anymore....and the online auctions, you just don't know what you're getting.

If you're happy with what you got, that's all that counts. I think you did very well and walked away with a couple of really nice ML's. Good going friend.

Yep, really got lucky. I don't go there that often but had a sudden urge to drop in after leaving the DMV. It must have been calling me.

Oh, the wife did not have a good time, sat playing a game on her phone. She is ok with the guns and money part, she just had plans for the time. All in all we were there for less than an hour.

!! I got one of these new in the box at auction about 5-6 years ago for $90 bucks! Seems in my area, gun auctions were not much of a "thing" and you could get real bargains! But now the public is on to them, and bargains or sleepers are hard to find! The one I have seems to have a splintery kind of wood, I stripped, stained, and "aged" it, a rifled .58 pistol is nothing to sneeze at! (Haven't fired yet!)
